“The power that made the body heals the body.” –BJ Palmer
We have studied and mastered a number of chiropractic techniques in order to meet your needs. With this being said, we often have patients who have experienced a particular type of adjustment in the past and as a result of our extensive education of chiropractic techniques, we are able to deliver what you are looking for and more. Therefore, please read the following in order to learn about the techniques which we use most often:
Activator: This technique is one of the most popular "low force" approaches to chiropractic in the world. The reason this is the case is because we use an adjustment instrument called The Activator Methods® Adjusting Instrument, which is a handheld spring-loaded tool that delivers a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust. This is extremely beneficial for elbows, wrists, knees, and other joints of the body.
Applied Kinesiology muscle testing or muscle response testing: In general, the applied kinesiologist finds a muscle that tests weak and then attempts to determine why that muscle is not functioning properly. The practitioner will then evaluate and apply the therapy that will best eliminate the muscle weakness and help the patient. Therapies utilized can include specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian therapy, clinical nutrition, dietary management and various reflex procedures.
ArthroStim: This hand held device delivers precise low force adjustments with a frequency of 12-14 light taps per second. This frequency is also known as the Schumann resonance. The Schumann resonance is often referred to as the earth’s background base frequency, or “heartbeat”. To optimize healing within your body a harmonization and rhythm must be established, it has been found that the Schumann resonance is just such a healing frequency. All this must sound a bit complicated but the main thing to remember is that Chiropractors have been getting fantastic results working with patients with all types of different conditions using a very light, very safe and most importantly a very effective technique.
CATS: Cranial Adjusting Turner Style: This is a highly specialized analysis and adjusting technique that can detect misalignments in the skull very quickly. If these misalignments are interfering with how the body functions, and are causing health problems, the bones in the skull can be realigned with gentle precision and care.
Extremity Adjusting: We recognize that treatment of the whole body requires synchrony between the nervous system and the mechanical control system of the kinetic chain. Subluxations of any joint have both neurological and mechanical components.
Many patients suffer repetitive subluxations and nerve entrapments because the mechanical component is ignored, leaving root causes undiscovered and untreated. The goal of extremity adjusting is to easily diagnose and treat these injuries, incorporating both neurological and mechanical treatments.
Mechanoreceptors are embedded in the tissues surrounding joints. When these tissues get stretched by a misalignment of the joint, this activates an inhibition or weakening of the adjacent muscle. Discovery of these weak muscles and correction of the misaligned joint to restore normal strength is a specialty of this technique.
Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. The benefits of this technique are vast, but include:
- Decreases overall time of treatment
- Fosters faster rehabilitation/recovery
- Reduces need for anti-inflammatory medication
- Resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent
The curvilinear edge of the patented Graston Technique® Instruments combines with their concave/convex shapes to mold the instruments to various contours of the body. This design allows for ease of treatment, minimal stress to the clinician's hands and maximum tissue penetration.
The Graston Technique® Instruments, much like a tuning fork, resonate in the clinician's hands allowing the clinician to isolate adhesions and restrictions, and treat them very precisely. Since the metal surface of the instruments does not compress as do the fat pads of the finger, deeper restrictions can be accessed and treated. When explaining the properties of the instruments, we often use the analogy of a stethoscope. Just as a stethoscope amplifies what the human ear can hear, so do the instruments increase significantly what the human hands can feel.
Koren Specific Technique: The Koren Specific Technique is a low force directional adjusting protocol. In simpler terms it means there are no heavy manipulations, no ‘cracking sounds’ and no discomfort whatsoever. This new method is ideal to work with all ages, from newborns to the elderly, even people with Osteoporosis or other degenerative spinal conditions. The key to successful use of the KST method is the Arthrostim adjusting tool.
Logan Basic: We use this technique because it focuses on the foundation of the spine and our non-force delivery style. With this technique, we will use our thumb to apply a light pressure to the muscles that attach to the sacrum. (Knowing exactly where to deliver this light contact requires years of training and experience.) We will hold this contact for about 10 minutes or however long is needed to relax the muscles. With repeated visits, as muscle spasms are reduced, the sacrum is able to assume a more normal position.
MC2: MC2 is an analysis system that identifies critical points along the spine that are disturbing the function of your nervous system and causing your health problems. This analysis is gentle, safe, specific and very effective. We have had tremendous success in resolving difficult cases.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET): NET is a mind-body technique that uses a methodology of finding and removing neurological imbalances related to the physiology of unresolved stress. NET is a tool that can help improve many behavioral and physical conditions.
Neuromechanical Technique (Impulse): Impulse Adjusting Instrument is a gentle, low-force program of chiropractic care. Chiropractic adjusting with the Impulse Adjusting Instrument aims to restore your body's balance and function to correct the underlying symptoms.
Chiropractic adjustments with the Impulse Adjusting Instruments feel like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated. In most cases the treatment is painless and after the adjustment many patients feel relief of pain and improved mobility. Others report a sense of well-being or a soothing calm feeling.
Take a look at these benefits!
- Extreme Speed. Impulse is twice as fast as other adjusting instruments and 100x faster than manual chiropractic adjustments. The gentle thrust is faster than the body's tendency to tighten up and resist the adjustment
- Controlled Force. Impulse has three different force settings for different parts of the body to treat patients of all ages. The controlled low force thrust of Impulse make treatments comfortable.
- Frequency Tuned Waveform. Impulse is specifically tuned to the natural frequency of the body that joints, muscles and nerves respond to, optimizing results for patients.
Toggle Recoil: While you are in a totally relaxed state, usually lying on your side, a high-speed, low-force thrust is delivered to the upper bones of your spine and the hands are quickly withdrawn. This allows the body to use the energy as it sees fit to “reset” the spinal joints.
Torque Release: Using the Torque Release Technique (TRT) and Integrator instrument, the spine can be adjusted with minimal force to provide the greatest positive impact in your health. Spinal subluxation leaves your body’s neurology and physiology in an increasingly stressed state, leading to the development of the symptoms you may be experiencing. The Torque Release Technique targets the underlying causes restoring you to a health and state of mind free of interference.
The Torque Adjustor™ is unlike other hand held instruments. The Integrator reproduces the entire thrust and movement components of TOGGLE RECOIL, the classic Chiropractic Method of adjusting by hand at a speed of 1/10,000th of a second. No instrument in chiropractic history has been able to reproduce what the hands were intended to do!
The Integrator™ is an instrument developed from the largest human population research study in chiropractic history! The Integrator™ is a legally marketed medical device for the adjustment of the Vertebral Subluxation; only available to licensed Doctors of Chiropractic.
Trigger Point: Trigger points are accumulations of waste products around a nerve receptor. Often times they feel like nodules or taut bands of fibers within the soft tissues. Trigger points form in muscles which have been overused or injured due to an accident or surgery. Common characteristics are increased muscle tension and muscle shortening. Increased muscle tension is the primary side-effect of trigger points and pain is the most common secondary effect.
It is common to find great improvement after one treatment. Repeated treatment may be necessary for those with chronic trigger points. Stretching should be done as "home work" to encourage the muscles that have been treated to stay in a lengthened position.
Like we mentioned above, if you have been exposed to a specific technique that you enjoy please make us aware so that we can deliver the type of results that you DESERVE! |
